Tallow has been used in traditional soap making for centuries because it creates a gentle, conditioning bar with a fatty acid profile similar to the skin’s natural oils. This helps it cleanse without leaving skin feeling overly stripped, making it a good choice for dry, sensitive or easily irritated skin.

What does 100% tallow soap mean?

100% tallow means our grass-fed beef tallow is the only oil/fat used in the soap recipe.

Like all true soap, tallow must be combined with sodium hydroxide (lye) and water during the soap-making process. During saponification, the tallow and sodium hydroxide react to form soap. Properly formulated and cured soap does not contain free lye remaining from the original recipe.

    Note: Sodium hydroxide is used during saponification and is not present as free lye in the finished bar.
